Treese Pflum

The QuiltNutz owner is Treese Pflum, who has been sewing since she was 9 years old.  She caught the quilting bug in 1978 and continues to expand her quilting skills and techniques.

As much as Treese loves making quilts, her favorite part is quilting the tops.  Simple meandering to custom quilting of applique quilts, everything is fun!  "There's nothing like finding the right pattern for each quilt," says Treese. "I enjoy the process, it's very relaxing...and allows my inner artist to come out and play.

Treese is also crazy about her kids and three grandkids. She spends a lot of time making quilts, toys and clothes for them. And as always still nuts about photography, and at times, both painting and photos end up in the art quilts and accessories. Treese has also taught quilting and sewing classes for adults.

I have 12 assorted sewing and quilting machines. Obviously I can't use all of the at once, but gives me plenty of flexibility and options.  One of my long arms is computerized, as are a couple of the sewing machines.  Having learned the hard way, I always have an extra machine available when one is in for service.

For her personal quilts Treese likes  a modern take on classics--pieced & appliqued--this is her passion.  In her spare time she is very active in the Coachella Valley Quilt Guild in Southern California.
About QuiltNutz
Welcome to QuiltNutz!

My quilted creations are original, handmade for you to enjoy or give as gifts. My love of color is a trademark of my quilts, wall hangings and accessories. I sometimes start with traditional ideas, but when I am done, it's anything but traditional.

I am passionate about fabric and quilting. A while back,  I, along with my Mom,  decided to share my passion with others.  I started by taking over the dining room and the family room to create a sewing and quilting studio. I have spent the last year remodeling my house and studio. Four years ago, my partner in crime, my mom, Betty passed away.  I am still quilting and trying to finish her quilts!  Then last year an old love came back into my life, totally unexpected, and now, Joe, is learning all about quilts.  I, on the other hand, have had to learn all about US Naval ships and their history.  For an Air Force brat this is a big step! lol

Over thirteen years ago, I added custom long arm quilting to the equation and offer this service to quilters.  As we all know, the UFO's (unfinished objects) keep stacking up, and need to be completed, but who has the time?  Or maybe you are one of the thousands of quilters who loves to piece, but hate to quilt. And, if you have arthritis or other physical limitations I know it's a challenge to quilt your creations. I have over  23 years of long arm experience and 40+ years quilting and sewing experience with a keen eye for design that will enhance your finished top.

Quiltnutz also offers custom order quilts and memory quilts as options.  Many of my custom quilts have pieces of clothing, t-shirts,  ribbons, lace and photos of loved ones that are used to create a one-of-a-kind heirloom gifts. These make perfect wedding, engagement, graduation, anniversary and birthday gifts, as well as as quilts for college bound kids.

My customers love their finished quilts, so check out the client reviews page. I hope you enjoy my quilts as much as I enjoyed making them.

QuiltNutz is small, woman-owned business, and operated in Cathedral City, CA. Other companies may offer similar services, but my services are unique, top quality and come with a personal touch. References are available from my happy customers.
